Kucēnu māte aktīvi piedalās medībās - gan dzīnēju, gan individuālajās. Labi dzen zvērus un meklē pa asinspēdu.
Suņu šķirne ir ļoti aktīva, tāpēc uz kucēniem vēlams pieteikties medniekiem vai saimniekiem ar privātmāju.
