Ukrainian-English Linguist

Atlas Advisors, Llc is seeking experienced Enhanced Linguists and Senior Linguists / Team Leaders to provide translation and interpretation services in support of the Government of Canada in Latvia. Linguists will work alongside multinational and government teams, delivering accurate translation and interpretation between English and Ukrainian in demanding, mission-focused environments.

Positions are available at multiple experience levels, including leadership roles for senior linguists overseeing small teams. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in high-impact settings where clear communication and precision are essential to operational success.

Linguist Key Responsibilities

Provide accurate and timely translation and interpretation between English and Ukrainian, both written and verbal.
Support multinational and host-nation teams during meetings and operational activities.
Facilitate communication in official briefings, planning sessions, and informal exchanges between international personnel.
Translate technical, multinational government, and administrative documents while maintaining fidelity, precision, and confidentiality.
Ensure cultural nuances are accurately conveyed to enhance understanding between English-speaking and Ukrainian counterparts.
Prepare reports, written summaries, and language support materials as directed by supervisors.
Be available to provide language assistance during extended hours, weekends, and in active conflict zones or support areas.
Collaborate with fellow linguists, government staff, and contractors to ensure consistent, reliable communication support across mission areas.

Senior Linguist / Team Lead Responsibilities

Provide on-site supervision and daily coordination for assigned linguist teams.
Act as the primary liaison between linguists, project management, and client representatives.
Monitor team performance and ensure consistent quality, accuracy, and compliance with operational standards.
Support onboarding and mentoring of new linguists.
Ensure daily reporting, task tracking, and communication flow within the team.

Qualifications

EU, U. S. , Canadian, or Ukrainian citizenship
Police background check with no prior convictions
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar environment as a linguist
Language proficiencies of English CEFR C1/ILR 3 and Ukrainian CEFR C1/ILR 3

Senior Linguist / Team Lead Requirements:
Must meet all the above Linguist Qualifications and:

Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including prior leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to manage team operations in dynamic, multinational environments.
Strong organizational, communication, and reporting skills.

All candidates must be prepared for physically able to work in operational environments, and capable of extended travel as required by the mission
